Microsoft made a pretty good job of Train Simulator, but TRAINZ has the edge on it at the moment because of the ability to control up to 8 locos at a time.
In M.S.T.S it is only possible to get this multi control if you are an expert programmer
Lets hope that the next version from MS (which they are working on) addresses this
My first attempt at making a video of a TRAINZ Scenario can be seen HERE

I started playing with computers in 1981 (ZX 81) but never really showed much interest in computer games. I think the last one I played was Chuckie Egg on the Spectrum.
Now Railway Simulation is something else.
I found TRAINZ 2004 in May 2007 and was hooked.
A month later I found TRAINZ 2006 its even better
Its like you are Surveyor, Architect, Engineer, Driver, Passenger in the World which you create and bring to life.
If your not content with all the assetts that come with the Sim, you can search the Download Station, where there are thousands of Layouts, buildings, Rolling Stock, Industries, to down load.
If you create something you are pleased with upload it to the DLS for anyone else to use in their world.
Trainz Classic didnt bring much new to the Train Simulator.
The fact that it comes with less assets content, will probably appeal to long service members,
I have become more familiar with the Download station now and I will be more selective when adding content to Classic
You could paint a picture, then sit and look at it.
You could compose some music then play or listen to it.
or
You could build a complete railway system (virtual) then watch it all come to life
Its the only game that I need
Im looking forward to the latest Trainz update, which is due in about a months time, Ive ordered
